Ski and Ride School Supervisor
SKI AND RIDE SCHOOL SUPERVISOR
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the daily management and growth opportunities for the ski and ride school programs. This includes, but is not limited to, management of their facility area, ticketing, reservations, paperwork, ski and snowboard pros and learning terrain in conjunction with the Ski and Ride School Director.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exercise partial supervisory authority, directly and indirectly over 65 employees (65 pros). Confer regularly with staff to assign and review work; plan, coordinate and evaluate service/activities; resolve problems.
- Assist in the planning for staffing needs with SRS Director
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of the clinics conducted within the programs, including the mentoring of staff. Takes a proactive role in making improvements. Coordinate with the SRS Director future training and mentoring needs and monitoring of staff development and improvement issues.
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures of their particular area. Co-ordinate the traffic flow of pros and customers in the facility and learning areas. Utilize props and fencing to define various learning areas, switching of equipment when appropriate, etc. Maintain safe learning environment.
- Confer regularly with guests to explain the programs, services, policies, schedules, rates, handle unusual problems, requests and/or complaints.
- Plan and administer appropriate record keeping and reporting systems for their particular area.
- Assist with general maintenance of the facilities as needed.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Functional supervision, direct and indirect of 65 employees.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Direction is received from the Ski and Ride School Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education and/or a minimum three years successful experience relative to the operation of a similar seasonal business.
- A broad base of knowledge in the ski business with three years of teaching.
- Good skiing/riding skills required. PSIA/AASI/USSCA/PDP Level I minimum certification.
- Ability to deal effectively with guests as well as a variety of company personnel.
